Free Trees for Denver Residents
All Denver residents are eligible to receive free trees in Spring 2012. The free trees are called “street trees” and must be planted in your right-of-way (also called your tree lawn, or hell strip). Those wishing for trees to plant elsewhere on their own property (“shade trees”) can get them for $25. Unfortunately, none of the available tree species are fruit trees, but it’s still a wonderful opportunity to help create a greener Denver!
For more information and to apply for free/discounted trees, go to The Park People website. Applications are available now, and must be completed by February 15th.
